The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!!!

Well it's been interesting this week... Let's recap somethings shall we!

Let start with the ugly...

After years of friendship and growth it seems longtime pals Movado & Foota hype have gone their separate ways... Now many have asked me my thoughts on this sad situation and well here you go!!!

Honestly I think this is a private matter, these two have been with each other through thick and thin... Gone to jail for one another stood by each other when they needed each other... When no one was taking a "real interest" in Movado's career (Including Mr. Dad) It was Foota who took him to Daseca studio voiced "Real Mckoy" and took it to the road!!!
When Foota was down and Movado was doing well as an artist he would help Foota... But somewhere as time went on people change... whether for good or bad they change and that is life! At the end of the day their friendship runs deeper then any of US outsiders (or better yet, YOU outsiders) Will ever understand!!! So as for my thoughts I hope they mend this fence because as someone who knows them both I know they have a true deep brother love for each other... and it is the outside mouths and badmind powers that be that have made this "should be private" situation into the spectacle that it has become... On a side note here is the footage from an interview with Foota about the situation... and while I don't believe this interview should have even taken place... (I wish it hadn't) what is done is done so here you go peeps...

The Bad...
Why is it the government won't do what is needed to help their own people? Seriously it is despicable, deplorable and down right embarrassing to know that when it comes to Tourist and visitors they will roll out the red carpet... but when one of their own truly needs the help not a soul can be found! Some may not agree with me but hey, this blog says "Z Truth" not "Your Truth" I have seen for myself the attention they give to making themselves "appear" to look "Upright and Proper" but when you go into the "powers that be" closet you get skeletons, bones, dirt, mud, quicksand, dog poo, cat poo, bat dung, hives, rashes, diseases and more!!! (yes alll of that)

Seriously,... You can spend sooo much time and energy blaming the music but where is the time and energy opening community centers so kids have somewhere to go instead of the streets, what about helping out those kids who sooo want to stay in school but have no money, how about investigating why sooo many teachers are allegedly sleeping with students (the ratio far surpasses what you may imagine) how about the ratio of young girls who are forced to sleep with men for money by their own parents... How about those who just need your help??? Huh??? What about that? Shall I go on? You have students filming themselves having sex in the school hallways... students walking by and watching... Where was the faculty?? Why and how does this happen? Are you serious politicians??? It seems you like to keep your people dumb so you can continue to bribe them with T-Shirts and false promises... Is this why it is sooo difficult to get a proper education? So the rich can stay rich and the poor you can ignore? When you sleep on your nice comfy beds at night do you remember those who barely scraping by on what you have aloud to be minimum wage? You should feel ashamed! Damn you! I hope when you order that next order of lobster at lime key you choke on the butter!!! (I didn't say die calm down people) but here is another one of your own you choose to ignore... The Bad

'I WILL NEVER GIVE UP HOPE'
Tumour child's mom optimistic about daughter's recovery
BY INGRID BROWN, Observer senior reporter browni@jamaicaobserver.com
Thursday, June 18, 2009

ANDREA Brown has not lost hope that some day her two-year-old daughter Courtney-Ann will be well again. However, she knows that the chance is extremely slim if she does not find the $795,000 needed for a radiation treatment to reduce a rapidly growing tumour at the child's neck.

Courtney-Ann, who was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma - a child cancer - at six months old, has regressed in the last few months after her parents could no longer afford to keep up with an expensive chemotherapy procedure.
The worried mother is now desperately trying to accumulate the funds for the child to have radiation treatment, which it is believed will reduce the tumour until the family can find more money to continue chemotherapy.
"I will never give up hope while she still has breath in her body because there is still a God," Brown told the Observer Friday from the University Hospital of the West Indies where Courtney-Ann has been hospitalised since earlier that week.
The woman said she has been forced to have the radiation done privately since the earliest available date at the Kingston Public Hospital is the end of July.
"I can't wait so long because she is in pain and now she can't do a whole lot of things since her neck is too heavy and she can't walk around," she told the Observer, adding that the baby cannot eat solid foods.
After spending much of last year in the hospital, Courtney-Ann returned home in April as the family could no longer afford the hundreds of thousands required to continue treatment.
Strangely, although diagnosed with stage IV cancer, she showed little signs of being ill until two months ago when the tumour began growing. The young girl was again hospitalised last week after she developed a high fever.
But the two-year-old's life can be spared with a bone marrow transplant. However, the US$500,000 required for the operation is a price the family cannot afford to pay.
Dr Doreen Brady-West, a consultant haematologist/oncologist who has supervised the treatment of the child, told the Observer in an earlier interview that for "best results", a bone marrow transplant (stem cell transplantation) should be done soon.
But the facilities are not available in Jamaica for the procedure.
In the absence of the bone marrow transplant, doctors would have to continue treatment with chemotherapy, which according to Brady-West, is a "less than the ideal option".
Courtney-Ann's cancer was discovered after her parents became concerned that prescribed antibiotics did not reduce a lymph node behind her ear, which a paediatrician diagnosed as an ear infection. Her mother returned to the paediatrician a month later and was reassured that it would soon clear up.
It didn't.

The Browns said they have already received some donations from concerned persons, but said they still need a lot more funds for Courtney-Ann's radiation treatment. Additionally, the child's mother said she is hoping that she will be able to make contact with a hospital overseas which might be able to provide her with more options in saving her daughter's life.
An account, #625326, has been set up at the Bank of Nova Scotia for those wishing to help the baby. The Browns can be contacted at andreabrown2075@yahoo.com.
